Östermalmsstationen Electric station.

Construction year 1925, Linnegatan 69. After the First World War, electricity consumption in Stockholm increased sharply and in the early 1920s Värtaelverket's management decided to have its plant expanded in Hjorthagen. At the same time, funding was made for the construction of two new substations to secure electricity supply in Östermalm and western Södermalm. Östermalmsstationen at Linnégatan 69 was inaugurated in late autumn 1925 and Högalidsstationen at Krukmakargatan 33 the following year. Both stations were designed by the electricity plant's own architect, Gustaf de Frumerie, who gave them large, powerful building volumes with smooth, plastered facades and elements of Nordic classicism. The large transformer hall got its lighting with daylight partly through four tall, arched windows and partly through a roof lantern. The roof lantern also served as air inlet and cooling the machines in summer.
