Södra Latin

"The castle of knowledge" inaugurated as the Higher General Education Agency for boys at Södermalm in 1891. The building was built according to a drawing by the architect P.E. Werming. The Neo-Renaissance style facade of pressed brick in moldings and wall tapes, is adorned by the torches of knowledge in majolica. The well-preserved, magnificent auditorium has the shape of an amphitheatre. The building was designed in such a way that all premises and corridors received direct daylight from the facades. Since 1961, even girls go here. The building has been K-marked blue by the Stockholm City Museum. //Samfundet St. Erik and Wikipedia.
