Stortorget/The big square

All buildings around the big square are historic. The square is mentioned in the 14th century. Stortorget is Stockholm's oldest square, located in the Old Town. The square was originally the centerpiece around which the city grew. Since 1400- to the 18th century, the city's Town Cottage was located. Stortorget was the site of Sweden's first pharmacy opened by pharmacist Anthonius Busenius in 1575. Stortorget annually hosts Stortorget's Christmas market. Since 2001, the Nobel Museum has been in the old Börshuset. On Stortorget, Stockholm's carnage took place in november 1520. //Wikipedia
