The big synagogue in Stockholm

Wahrendorffsgatan at Berzeli park. Faith Communities: Judaism. Construction in 1867 after drawings by architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander and inaugurated on September 16, 1870.
Scholander portrayed the synagogue after a vision of an ancient Assyrian temple, which is evident, among other things, at the rich floral ornamentation on walls and around pillars. Interiorly, the synagogue is strongly influenced by the ideals that characterize German judeaism, which was the pre-enacting influence in Swedish Judaism at this time. The craft is of high class, not least this applies to the interior with its detail and rich play of colors. The shrine is behaved in accordance with the spirit of reform advocating a new order of worship and a new approach to the interior of synagogues. //Wikipedia
