Stockholm City Hall

The town hall is the seat of the Stockholm District Court. The building at Scheelegatan was ordered by the city of Stockholm for the then municipal Stockholm City Hall, but now belongs to the state. After many rounds, Carl Westman was finally commissioned to design the town hall. It was inaugurated on 3 December 1915 by King Gustaf V and Princes Carl and Eugen. The facade construction with its austere design and simple gabled roofs with different heights evoke the idea of Vasa era architecture. The brick surfaces of the facades are muddled, which gives the building a patina of age. Stockholm's town hall is rich in artistic decoration. The symbol for the entire operation in Stockholm's town hall - Kopparmatte - is on the second floor. It is a replica of a 17th century statue that represents justice and a warning against committing crimes.//Wikipedia
