The Stenbock palace

Stenbockska palatset (also called Stenbocks palats) is a palace at Birger Jarls torg 4 on Riddarholmen in Stockholm, built around 1640 for Fredrik Gustavsson Stenbock and his wife Katarina De la Gardie. The building is both exterior and interior the best preserved of Riddarholmen's noble palaces. The severity of the Roman palace pattern is eased by the anchor ends of the square facade from the 1640s and the 18th-century plaster in red, yellow and white, which faces Birger Jarl's square. Architect was Nicodemus Tessin d.ä. when their son Johan Stenbock had him restore the house in the 1670s into today's baroque palace. Carl Hårleman was responsible for the 1740s interiors. As of 2009, parts of the Svea Court of Appeal are housed in the palace.//Wikipedia
