Stallbron/Riksgatan

The current bridge was inaugurated on 4 November 1904. It is approximately 20 meters long and was manufactured at Keiller's mechanical workshop (later Götaverken). The name has existed since 1879 and comes from the former court stable at Helgeandsholmen. The bridge was rebuilt and widened in connection with the rebuilding and extension of the Riksdagshuset in 1980–1983. Then a screened walkway was added under the bridge, called Rännarbanan, designed by AOS Arkitekter. This passage is only open to members of the Riksdag, who can get between the House of Representatives on the Old Town side and the plenary hall building on Helgeandsholmen. Riksgatan is a pedestrian street on Helgeandsholmen in Stockholm. Riksgatan was named in 1947 and refers to the short stretch of road between the Riksdagshuset and the Riksbank's former building. Riksgatan is bounded on both sides by large portals. //Wikipedia
