The City Hall

Construction year 1923, Architect Ragnar Östberg. Hantverkargatan 1. The exterior and interior of the City Hall also carry influences of Italian renaissance, Nordic Gothic and Islamic art, which Östberg united to its very own style, where the custom-made, dark red brick also played an important role. More than one million hand-beaten bricks and just under seven million machined bricks were used to complete the architect's creation. The City Hall construction has been called ”the last 'real' building hut in Sweden” and is considered one of the country's foremost construction works in the national romantic style. With its 106-meter-high tower, it is also a famous landmark in Stockholm and in 2012 was still number four among Stockholm's tallest buildings. //Wikipedia
