The city archive Liljeholmen

Take part in a world memory.
Ever since the 18th century, people have had to apply for permission to build new, rebuild or demolish buildings in Stockholm - what we today call a building permit. The city archive stores Stockholm's building permit drawings from 1713-1978. The series of approximately 2.5 million drawings has been designated a World Heritage Site by the UN agency UNESCO. The drawings cover most of the houses that have been built or changed in the city, for example residential buildings, factories, preschools, kiosks and outhouses. Part of documents that tell about the city's building history. There are also archives from associations, hospitals and technical businesses and much more.
