Skogskrematoriet Three chapels

The forest crematorium is a crematorium with three chapels designed by Gunnar Asplund and inaugurated in 1940. In the mid-thirties, the Stockholm Cemetery Board decided to build a crematorium with three chapels adjacent. The idea was that Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz would agree on the assignment, but Lewerentz was overlooked and the assignment went over to Asplund.The facility was completed in 1940.
