Mural painting in Hjulsta

14 June 2019, the 11 meter high mural painting at Hjulsta Torg dedicated to the conversation between all inhabitants in Hjulsta was inaugurated.
- I wanted to know what the young people think is exciting, important or beautiful in Hjulsta. Based on the stories, I have formed a pattern of circles with traces of movement, growing energy or cherry blossoms. I have combined that with speech bubbles around the windows in the facade. The different green shades of the speech bubbles symbolize the differences of the wheel staff and that all their voices should be heard, says the artist Mari Rantanen.
Mari Rantanen's artwork is inspired by the young people's stories about how beautifully the cherry trees in Hjulsta bloom in the spring and that the footbridge over to the Lunda industrial area has an exciting spiral shape.
