Långholmen's dog resting area

A dog rest area is a rest area that is not fenced. It is an open area, often part of a park. Your dog may be released, provided that you have it under supervision and that it comes when you call it.
Important to think about as a dog owner
It is compulsory to be on a leash in Stockholm. This means that your dog must be kept on a leash in public. The leash requirement does not apply at the dog rest areas organized by the municipality. However, bitches that run may only run freely in fenced kennels.
During the period 1 March–20 August, many wild animals give birth. Then you must be especially careful to supervise your dog out in nature, so as not to disturb.
Dogs are not allowed in swimming areas in the summer, during the period 1 June–31 August. There are exceptions, for example at Långholmen's rock bath, dogs are welcome all year round.
As a dog owner, you are always responsible for your dog. You must ensure that the dog does not cause harm or discomfort to others.
You must always pick up after your dog. Dog poo bags may be thrown in the city of Stockholm's rubbish bins.
