Långbro inn

The old chief physician's residence for the former Långbro Hospital is now the Långbro Inn.
SOME IMPORTANT YEARS IN THE HISTORY OF THE HOUSE
1905 Construction of the chief physician's villa at Långbro Hospital begins. The architect Gustaf Wickman chooses to design the house in Art Nouveau style.
1909 On June 17, the villa of 476 square meters is completed and surrounded by a large garden, enclosed by hedges and fences. The interior is lavish with boasing, stucco moldings and fireplaces in a style described as "Baroque Art Nouveau". This year, the first chief physician, Olov Kinberg, moves in with his family.
1911 An English-style park with winding walkways and an artificial pond is created. In the middle of the pond, an island is constructed that can be reached via two arched bridges. A swan house is being built on the island for the clipped-winged swan pair that live there. There are also fish in the pond, first rudd, later introduced grass carp from Poland.
1927 Chief physician Kinberg is dismissed for fetching food for his pig from the hospital's central kitchen without paying.
1939-1945 During these years, the upper floor is closed in winter due to fuel shortages during the war years. Chief physician Sten Stenberg, who lives in the house, lets needy people from different countries live in the house.
1959 Docent Erik Goldkuhl moves out and is thus the last senior physician living in the villa.
1960 The villa is rebuilt. On the ground floor, space is being made for a café, hairdresser and social therapy. In the basement it is set up for work training in the form of a carpentry and a metal workshop. Upstairs is a textile workshop.
1994 The villa is converted into an inn.
1998 JM buys the entire Långbroparken and begins to develop the area with housing and commerce.
2004 The inn closes.
2005 August 1 Fredrik Eriksson and partners buy the villa from JM and completely renovate the entire property. On October 15, Långbro inn opens.//https://langbrovardshus.se/overlakarvillan/
