Johanneshov redoubt

Johanneshov's redoubt is an unfinished fortification located in the district of Johanneshov, southern Stockholm, which began to be built in 1859. As early as 1860, the Stadsriksdag decided that the construction work for the huge project should be stopped as the defense concept was considered outdated.The remains are now in the basement of an office building at Arenavägen, directly north of Söderstadion. The facility is an ancient monument and can be visited by the public during office hours.
