The English park Norsborg

Outside the now run-down manor where Johan Liljencrantz (Minister of Finance for Gustav III) in the 18th century had an English park built among the old Viking graves next to Norsborg's manor. There is a small round temple from 1812 called Eleonora's Umbrella. It is assumed that the temple was designed by Olof Tempelman. Many different types of trees were planted in the park such as; oak, poplar, larch, cypress, linden, beech and chestnut. The idea of English parks was that they should be natural and romantic with many different trees and winding paths. In the park there is also an orangery with an elegant scenery facade. The park at Norsborg Manor is one of Sweden's few well-preserved English parks. At the beach, an ornamental tower was erected in 1859 (date on coat of arms: MDCCCLIX) according to drawings by architect Johan Fredrik Åbom//Wikipedia
