Birger Jarl's tower

Birger jarl's tower is a tower at Norra Riddarholmshamnen in Stockholm. According to a myth that spread in the 18th century, the tower would have been built during the time of Jarl Birger in the 13th century and thus be Stockholm's oldest building. However, an examination of the brick carried out in 1917 showed that the tower is likely built of brick from the 1527 demolished Sankta Klara monastery and thus significantly younger. It was repainted in 1995 and renovated in 2006 by the Statens Fastighetsverk. Today it is used, like the High Commissioner's house, by the Chancellor of Justice.//Wikipedia
