Almgren's silk weaving factory and museum

Entrance fee. K. A. Almgren silk weaving & museum is Northern Europe's oldest preserved silk weaving mill, located near Slussen on Södermalm in Stockholm. The weaving mill was founded in 1833 by silk manufacturer Knut August Almgren and is now housed in premises built in 1862. Since 2020, the building has been designated as a cultural building monument by the county administration in Stockholm. K. A. Almgren's silk weaving mill has been the royal court supplier of silk since 1844.
During the late 19th century, the weaving mill was at times Scandinavia's largest workplace for women. Today weaving is carried out on a small scale as well as museum operations with a basic exhibition and temporary exhibitions.https://www.kasiden.se/
